The Dorset rural touring arts organisation, Artsreach, often makes use of The Hut. It provides live touring performances of theatre, music, dance, comedy, literature, film and puppetry.

Powerstock School makes good use of The Hut during term-times. Check our availability to see when.
The Seedlings Pre-School Group meets in The Hut fortnightly, term-times only. Please contact the School Office on 01308 485380 to get more information.
The school is now using the hut for its daily worship sessions.

The Parish Council and the Parochial Church Council meet here on the fourth Monday of every month excluding August and December, starting at 8pm at The Hut. Agendas are published on the Parish Council website.

Our barn dance takes place on Saturday 26 September this year. All welcome!
Harvest Supper
This year’s Harvest Supper is on Saturday 24 October. Service in the church beforehand. 7pm start. £10 per head including refreshments. No ticket sales on the door.
Weir Field Fundraising Event
The Weir Field Committee will be holding another of their very popular music events, to raise funds. Watch this space for more details.
Powerstock Fete
Powerstock Village Fete was a great success. 800 people attended and £7300 was raised for the churc.
Powerstock Hut AGM
Despite advertising widely, we only had committee members at The Hut. Nick Harris gave us a full update on how things are going at the Primary School, given that he is leaving to take up a headship at Symondsbury Primary.
The Mappercombe Project: archaeological news and exhibition
The evening was a great success. It means that The Mappercombe Project can move forwards with its plans this summer.
Aspidistra Orchestra Concert
The Aspidistra Orchestra concert was a really enjoyable evening, in aid of The Church.
Three Cane Whale
Everyone very much enjoyed Three Cane Whale’s visit to Powerstock Hut. Truly a night to remember.
Live Band ONYX
Live Band Onyx, featuring Samantha, are at The Hut Saturday 14 Feb 8-11.30pm. Over 18s only. Disco. Bar. Tickets £10 in aid of Weir Sports Field.

School Christmas Fair
The school held their annual Christmas Fair in The Hut on Friday 5 December.
Community Lunch
Angelica is planning a Community Lunch at The Hut. All welcome - especially families. Free event.
Artsreach: I am Dram
I AM DRAM by Hannah Maxwell is coming to Powerstock Hut on Saturday 22 November at 7.30. Adults £12.50, Under 18 £6.

Harvest Supper
Heather Pitcher and her willing helpers will again be putting on the annual Harvest Supper at The Hut on Saturday 4 October. NB all tickets to be purchased beforehand from The Three Horseshoes, Heather herself or Ed Marsh. There will be a service a the church beforehand.
Barn Dance in Aid of The Hut
The evening was a great success, thanks largely to The Ping Pong Orchestra’s great music and the enthusiastic dancing. Some much-needed funds were raised to keep The Hut running.
Trustee Talk
One of our trustees, Andrew Whittle, gave a talk on his work as an award-winning letter carver and designer, in aid of West Dorset Versus Arthritis, at Loders Village Hall on Friday 18 July.
Village Open Gardens
Powerstock is opening its gardens!
Over two days, June 21 and 22 from 11 to 5 on both days.Coffee and cakes in The Hut - all proceeds to the school. Barbecue at The Hut - all proceeds to The Weir Field. Tea and cakes at Glebe House - all proceeds to the church

We held our annual AGM on 20 May. It was well attended. We are delighted to be welcoming four new Trustees.
Aspidistra Drawing Room Orchestra Concert of Palm Court Music
The Aspidistra Drawing Room Orchestra gave a wonderful concert of Palm Court Music at Powerstock Hut on Saturday and Sunday 26/27 of April. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time.

Ghost of a Smile
Two Dickens’ ghost stories with a comic twist were performed by Nicholas Collett. .Tales with a tingle, but also a giggle. The audience very much enjoyed the evening.
Fundraising Disco in aid of “Hooke Court in Malawi” Charity
The evening was a great success. Money went to help children in Malawi.

The audience was treated to a glorious mix of beautiful songs and storytelling from award-winning folk musician, Allison Lupton.

Fideri Fidera - Oskar’s Amazing Adventure
An original, heart-warming and entertaining play for young children and their families, full of good humour, adventure, music and song, this was a magical event for the younger members of our local community.
Ask the Experts: Antiques Afternoon
Our own antiques roadshow on the afternoon of Saturday 26th October went well. Over 60 peple attended. .
Spooky Disco
Powerstock School hosted a Spooky Disco 5-6.30 at The Hut on Friday 25 October. There were some wonderful fancy dress outfits.
